C00, A00 combinations are gradually being removed from admissions at many universities
In the 2026 university entrance season, many schools are expected to strongly adjust admission combinations, in which traditional combinations such as C00 (Literature, History, Geography) and A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry) are gradually eliminated or narrowed. Ho Chi Minh City University of Law announced that they will no longer use these two combinations in admission based on high school graduation exam scores.
Instead, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law plans to apply new combinations with two compulsory subjects: Literature and foreign languages for the law and English language groups; Mathematics and English for the remaining majors. The third subject is chosen by candidates from the remaining subjects of the 2018 general education program, and the school still calculates combinations with History and Geography to ensure candidates' rights.
Many other schools such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance also plan to abolish A00, C00 and build new combinations with Math or Literature combined with subjects suitable for each major. Arranging colleges and vocational schools in Ninh Binh province
