Gia Lai urgently plans boarding schools in border communes

Since the beginning of August, schools in 7 border communes of Gia Lai have urgently cleaned up, arranged facilities, prepared books, and ensured teaching and learning in 2 sessions/day. Teachers coordinate with families to encourage students, especially ethnic minority students, to maintain a 100% quota, and support children from far away to class. Some schools also coordinated health care, donated health care, gave textbooks and school supplies.

7 border communes have more than 10,300 students, nearly 55% of whom are ethnic minorities, but most of them do not have boarding or semi-boarding functions, causing difficulties for students in remote areas. Conclusion 81-TB/TW on the construction of boarding and semi-boarding schools received support from the people. Local leaders proposed to arrange land funds, ensure electricity, water, and transportation infrastructure to create a safe, comprehensive learning environment and link it with on-site human resource training.
