On August 13, reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper recorded at Thinh Loc Kindergarten (Loc Ha commune), many teachers were busy mowing grass, collecting garbage, and cleaning the brick floors of the classrooms.
Along with cleaning and renovating the campus, the school also organizes arts practice to prepare for the new school year opening ceremony.
Ms. Tran Thi Mo (39 years old) said that from August 3 to now, the school's Board of Directors has mobilized teachers to participate in cleaning schools and classrooms to prepare for the new school year. Although family work is also busy, the teachers all comply with the mobilization, continuously participating in labor for many days.
Hot weather, working for many days is also hard. Up to this point, the cleaning of schools and classrooms is basically almost finished. After completing environmental sanitation, we continue to prepare, supplement and decorate toys in the classroom for children," Ms. Mo shared.
While wiping the classroom floor, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich (53 years old) said that she has worked at Thinh Loc Kindergarten for 13 years. According to Ms. Bich, kindergarten teacher work is quite hard and stressful, but thanks to the love for children, all difficulties and pressures are overcome.
Ms. Vu Thi Hang - Principal of Thinh Loc Kindergarten - said that the school currently has 29 officials and teachers. To prepare for the new school year, from the beginning of August, the school has mobilized teachers to clean, renovate classrooms and organize arts practice.
According to Ms. Hang, storm No. 10 in 2025 caused heavy damage to the school, causing a school building to have its roof blown off, the canopy collapsed, and the parking garage collapsed. The remediation work is basically completed from November 2025. The damaged teacher parking garage is currently being rebuilt.
In the 2026–2027 school year, Thinh Loc Kindergarten has 13 classes with 360 students.
At Dinh Ban Primary School (Thach Khe commune), school cleaning and renovation work is also being implemented with tasks such as mowing grass, sweeping schoolyards, and cleaning classrooms.
Ms. Hoang Thi Tuyet - Principal of Dinh Ban Primary School - said that the school has 2 facilities with a total of 33 officials and teachers. In the 2026 - 2027 school year, the school has about 645 students.
According to Ms. Tuyet, storm No. 10 in 2025 caused great damage to the school's facilities, in which many school buildings had their roofs blown off. After the storm, the school repaired and re-roofed the roof.
However, due to the impact of storms leading to water leaks, the school is urgently repainting the school buildings, striving to complete them before the school opening day.
Since the beginning of August, the school has mobilized teachers to participate in cleaning schools and classrooms. Up to now, the general cleaning has been almost completed," Ms. Tuyet shared.
Records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters show that in many other schools in Ha Tinh province, the work of cleaning and renovating schools to prepare for the opening day of the 2026–2027 school year is also being actively implemented.
According to the plan approved by the Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee, in the 2026–2027 school year, 1st, 9th and 12th grade students will return to school on August 24; the remaining grades will return to school from August 28. The new school year opening ceremony will take place on the morning of September 5.
