Lao Dong Newspaper has just published an article on Planned inspection and examination of teachers' professional activities.
According to the article, the draft Law on Teachers issued by the Ministry of Education and Training clearly stipulates the content of inspection and examination of teachers, including teachers' professional activities.
The article attracted public attention after being posted.
Sending comments to Lao Dong Newspaper, reader Dat Pham said that he completely supports the regulations in the Draft Law on Teachers.
"Teaching is the noblest of all noble professions. In addition to teaching, it also teaches children how to be human, so those who stand on the podium must be shining examples for children to follow. Therefore, it is necessary to inspect and carefully check the professional ethics of teachers" - reader Dat Pham expressed his opinion.
Reader Pham Thi Nhuan made another suggestion: "Every semester, parents and students should vote secretly to comment on teachers once. If less than 50% of the comments are negative, the teacher should be asked to stop teaching. That way, teachers will be more responsible, try to teach in class, reduce forcing students to take extra classes, and have a better, more appropriate attitude towards students."
Sharing the same view, reader Nguyen Lam said that increasing teachers' salaries must be linked to responsibility. It is necessary to inspect and examine teachers continuously, substantially and seriously.
"We must conduct strict and transparent inspections to control teachers' expertise. There must be annual inspections so that each teacher is always aware of training and cultivating ethics and professional capacity."
Reader B. Huong expressed her opinion that education should be considered a service industry, and unqualified teachers will be fired like other professions.
"It is necessary to record students' evaluations of their own teachers after 1 year of study. Only then can teachers learn and improve their qualifications. The new curriculum and new books are very good, but how teachers teach is their right, students do not have the right to have opinions, including parents" - reader B. Huong expressed.
According to reader Khanh Trinh, the inspection of teachers' expertise is completely reasonable, but the important thing is accuracy, honesty, and objectivity.
Ms. Tran Thu Ha, a parent in Thanh Hoa, again requested the Ministry of Education and Training to specify more clearly the form of inspection and examination of teachers, and at the same time, to provide specific sanctions to punish those who do not meet the requirements.
"This will help society and parents monitor inspections and checks, making sure they are substantial instead of just formal," said Ms. Ha.
