The Hoa Binh reservoir area has complex terrain, sparsely populated on many small islands, making the road to school for students here more difficult.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, from early morning on September 5, many parents and students in Ngoi hamlet, Muong Hoa commune (Phu Tho) traveled a long distance together, crossing the lake by boat to attend the opening ceremony.
Many students had to wake up at 5am, according to their parents, to row a boat nearly 5km above the water to be present at the opening ceremony.

From Ngoi Hoa port, parents and students had to travel an additional 2km by road to Ngoi Hoa Primary and Secondary School (Muong Hoa commune, Phu Tho) to attend the opening ceremony.
Ms. Nhien (36 years old, living in Ngoi hamlet, Muong Hoa commune) shared: "This morning I woke up early to take my two children to school to attend the opening ceremony. From home to school, it takes about 1 hour by boat to cross the lake".

Mr. Bui Van Cuu - Principal of Ngoi Hoa Primary and Secondary School said that in the new school year, the school has 225 students, of which more than 60 students have to go to school by boat.
"Although there are many difficulties, teachers and parents always strive to overcome them, hoping that students will work hard to rise up to have a bright future" - Mr. Cuu shared.
