Accordingly, the health insurance contribution rate for students in Ho Chi Minh City is equal to the reference level x 4.5% x 50% x number of months of participation (the reference level from July 1, 2025 is 2.34 million VND).
Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance also said that students register to participate in health insurance and pay at the educational institution where they are studying right from the beginning of the school year, the course is in 3 ways: 3 months, 6 months or 12 months (encouraged to participate for 12 months).
In case the health insurance card is still valid for 10 days before it expires, students should contact the educational institution to register to pay the remaining participation fees according to the above methods.
Educational institutions are responsible for urging and reminding HSSV to pay health insurance participation fees for students according to the list currently managed, organize the collection of health insurance fees for students and transfer the money and list of health insurance cards to the Social Insurance agency.
