Happy school models in Can Tho City are being implemented in the direction of building a safe and friendly educational environment where students are listened to and respected.
At Ninh Kieu Secondary School, Tran Hung Dao branch, the implementation of the happy school model is reflected in changes in the way teachers interact with students and organize educational activities.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu Uyen (teacher at Ninh Kieu Secondary School, Tran Hung Dao branch) expressed that the model helps teachers pay more attention to students' emotions.
An effective lesson is not only about students understanding the lesson but also when they feel comfortable, confident in asking questions and daring to present their thoughts," Ms. Uyen shared.
Besides school hours, the school also organizes recreational activities that link experiences with traditional education, skills, community responsibility and career orientation. This is an approach that helps students develop both in terms of knowledge, skills and emotions.

Thai Nguyen Phuong Vy (student of Ninh Kieu Secondary School, Tran Hung Dao branch), shared that the thing that makes her happiest when coming to school is meeting teachers and friends. In particular, the listening, respect and support from teachers and friends when facing difficulties is a motivation for her to boldly express her thoughts and strive to improve.
I feel more comfortable when I can express my thoughts and am not too worried when making mistakes," Phuong Vy shared.
From the perspective of a primary school teacher, Ms. Nguyen Xuan Trang (teacher at Hung Phu Primary School), said that after a period of implementing the happy school model, what she felt most clearly was the change in the positive atmosphere in the school.
According to the female teacher, teachers are more open, know how to listen and share with students more. Students also boldly express opinions and viewpoints to teachers, and at the same time know how to support and help each other in learning.
Happy school is not just a formal movement but also a cultural feature, a core value that needs to be maintained in schools," Ms. Trang expressed.

Ms. Trang also acknowledged that after applying the "happily school" model, the pressure on records, books as well as work has decreased significantly. However, this does not mean that teachers reduce their professional responsibility.
To meet the requirements of the education sector, teachers need to continue to improve, learn and update new teaching methods. The important thing is how to make students' lessons truly valuable and useful," the female teacher shared.
The Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) of Can Tho City informed that, over the time of implementing the happy school model, for students, the clearest change is that they feel safer, are listened to, respected and supported better in terms of emotions and psychology.
Teaching methods are innovated in the direction of increasing experience, cooperation and personal support. Thereby, helping students become more confident, interested, proactive and responsible in learning and training.
For teachers, the model promotes the transition from methods heavily focused on teaching and control to organizing active learning activities, focusing on the emotions, abilities and progress of each student.
These initial results show that a happy school does not reduce the requirements for quality and discipline, but creates a foundation for students to study, practice more consciously and develop comprehensively.
