On October 7, in the face of prolonged heavy rain causing flooding in many areas, the Board of Directors of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) directly inspected the organization of teaching and learning and deployed plans to respond to the circulation of storm No. 11 in a number of schools in the city.

At schools such as Ly Thuong Kiet Primary School (Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward), Phan Huy Chu - Dong Da High School, Trung Hoa Kindergarten (Yen Hoa Ward), the leaders of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training acknowledged the proactiveness and flexibility of schools in changing the teaching state and ensuring safety for students.

At Phan Huy Chu - Dong Da High School, online classes take place seriously and effectively. Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong attended the online class and talked with students, encouraging them to maintain a positive learning spirit and ensure safety in complex weather conditions.

A teacher at Phan Huy Chu - Dong Da School was flooded, had no power, and could not teach online. The Department requested the school to proactively arrange support and have a solution to ensure no teaching interruption.

The Department's leaders also emphasized the role of parents in preparing equipment, coordinating management, and supporting their children's studies at home. This companionship is an important factor in helping online learning to be effective, even in unfavorable conditions.

At the inspection, Mr. Tran The Cuong - Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training noted that schools need to promptly grasp the situation of teachers, especially those in heavily flooded areas.

Along with maintaining teaching activities, the work of ensuring the safety of facilities has also been implemented synchronously by schools.

At Trung Hoa Kindergarten (Yen Hoa ward), some classrooms, offices and kitchen areas were affected by flooding. The school has urgently relocated and raised equipment, tools, and toys to limit damage. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training recommends that schools continue to review, clear water flows, and clean the environment carefully after the water recedes to be ready to welcome children back to school.

Commenting on the situation of teaching and learning organization as well as response plans to the circulation of storm No. 11 of schools in the city this morning (October 7), Mr. Tran The Cuong acknowledged the proactiveness and urgency of schools.

The Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training recommends that schools maintain on-duty forces, closely monitor weather conditions, proactively adjust teaching plans, and prepare plans to support students and teachers when necessary.

Mr. Tran The Cuong also sent a message to parents of students to continue to closely coordinate with the school to care for student management at home, instruct children to use online learning devices to ensure safety, while ensuring safety in daily life and travel when the weather is still at risk.
