On the morning of October 27, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Vietnam National University, Hanoi held a ceremony to receive the Labor Medal and celebrate its 5th anniversary - 15 years of tradition.
Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Thanh, Principal of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, said: From the scale of initial training (in 2012) with only two training majors ( Medicine, Pharmacy) and 100 first-year students, up to now (in 2025), the school has had 6 undergraduate training programs, enrolling over 1,000 students/year.
In postgraduate education, the school has implemented 30 programs (Inpatient Doctor, Specialist I and Master's degree), enrolling over 500 students/year; in the near future, it will enroll in a master's training program for international students and open additional doctoral training programs.
Scientific research and knowledge transfer are constantly being promoted with many prestigious state-level, ministerial-level topics and international publications, contributing to solving urgent public health problems.
The University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Thanh Xuan and Linh Dam is being strongly invested in and developed, creating a solid step forward in practical training and community health care.
The President of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. and Dr. Le Ngoc Thanh, said that this is the tireless efforts and dedication of the school's teaching staff.
"In particular, in the past 5 years, we have focused on improving the quality of training and scientific research, deeply aware of the specific mission of the medical industry of taking care of people's health. We are committed to continuing to be the cradle of training future generations of doctors who are not only confident in their expertise but also rich in compassion, ready to integrate and serve the community, worthy of the trust of society" - Professor Thanh said.
Thanks to these tireless efforts, on this occasion, the School was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the Party and the State.

The National University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Hanoi National University was established on October 27, 2020 under the decision of the Prime Minister, on the basis of upgrading the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy - established in 2010, inheriting the medical training tradition of the University of Indochina since 1906.
To date, the school has 5 faculties including: Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy; has 3 affiliated units and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. Currently, the school has 464 staff and civil servants, including 14 professors, 75 associate professors, and 139 doctors.
In particular, the team of the Board of Directors of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - VNU-ghN includes many directors and former directors of major hospitals. In addition to Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Thanh, Principal, former Director of E Hospital; there are 6 deputy principals at the scene.
Of which, 3/6 vice principals of the school are directors of major hospitals, including: Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital; Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh, Director of the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital; Dr. Duong Duc Hung, Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Minh Son, Director of Hanoi National University, said that this is a worthy recognition and the clearest proof of the great efforts and contributions of the school. To continue promoting the achievements, Mr. Son suggested that the University of Medicine and Pharmacy continue to affirm its position as a leading training center in the field of health Sciences, developing training programs in the direction of interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary on the basis of promoting the overall and comprehensive strength of Hanoi National University.
At the same time, strongly apply advanced technologies, digital transformation, artificial intelligence in management, teaching, and medical practice to create a team of human resources capable of working in a smart medical environment.
In particular, it is necessary to be steadfast in knowledge goals. "The ultimate goal is to train doctors who are not only good at their profession but also bright in medicine and ethics, meeting the requirements of improving quality, protecting, caring for, and improving people's health," emphasized the Director of Hanoi National University.
