The program was chaired by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka (Japan) and the Global Vietnamese and Cultural Teaching Network, in coordination with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Vietnam Education Equipment and Publishing Investment Joint Stock Company (VEPIC).
The event is part of a series of activities to implement the initiative " Global Vietnamese and Vietnamese Culture Teaching Network" - an initiative launched at the International Workshop on Vietnamese and Vietnamese Culture Teaching at the end of May.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duy Anh - Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese in Fukuoka (Japan), representative of the Network Coordination Board - said: "Since the workshop, we have implemented many specific activities to realize this initiative".
According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Anh, up to now, more than 250 teachers and Vietnamese language teaching institutions at home and abroad have registered to join the network. Within the framework of this program, the first training session was held with the participation of many Vietnamese language and cultural experts, including Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Thuyet, Editor-in-Chief of Canh Dieu textbooks.
In addition to training, the network also deploys online maps of Vietnamese language classes worldwide. This is a tool to help students and parents easily find a suitable place to study. Currently, the map has recorded the information of 92 Vietnamese language classes in many countries.
At the same time, an electronic information portal integrating learning resources and classroom maps is being urgently built, expected to launch in 2025.
Appreciating the community's initiatives and efforts, Mr. Dang Thanh Phuong - Deputy Head of the People's External Relations Commission, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - said: "In the coming time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to coordinate with ministries and branches to organize linkages between at home and abroad, promote the learning of Vietnamese in the overseas Vietnamese community in the direction of applying information technology and innovating methods, thereby improving the effectiveness of this special work".
Mr. Phuong emphasized that the Front will also work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to organize conferences and seminars to survey the current situation and propose solutions to preserve the Vietnamese language in the overseas Vietnamese community. Thereby, aiming to build a comprehensive project on promoting Vietnamese cultural identity in the global Vietnamese community.
In particular, the Vietnam Fatherland Front will also support and create conditions for members of the Central Committee of the Front and overseas Vietnamese to actively coordinate with representative agencies, establish specialized Vietnamese committees in associations and community work committees; launch new or expand the model of schools teaching and learning Vietnamese; establish forums such as "Forum on Maintaining Vietnamese at Abroad" ... to create a space for the Vietnamese community at home and abroad to connect, learn, and accompany each other in the journey to preserve Vietnamese and Vietnamese culture.
At the ceremony, Ms. Vu Chi Mai - Consul General, Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka (Japan) - affirmed: "Bringing Vietnamese to the young generation abroad is an extremely noble task, but it is also very difficult. It requires a love for the profession, a love for the Vietnamese language and perseverance of each teacher".
According to her, the training program not only helps teachers access effective and easy-to-understand language teaching methods, but is also an opportunity for the global community of Vietnamese teachers to share experiences, connect and spread faith in their persistent journey.
As a coordinating and professional support unit, Vietnam Education Equipment and Publishing Investment Joint Stock Company (VEPIC) has accompanied in compiling and providing learning materials as well as contributing to the process of building a digital platform for the learning materials system in the program.
This training program is an effort to build a community of teachers teaching Vietnamese language and Vietnamese culture globally. The cooperation between representative agencies, social organizations and businesses such as VEPIC is expected to contribute to sustainable Vietnamese language and Vietnamese cultural education initiatives for the young generation of overseas Vietnamese around the world.
