On July 25, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son signed Decision No. 2145/QD-BGDDT approving the policy of establishing Thai Nguyen University Branch in Dien Bien province.
According to the decision, Thai Nguyen University is responsible for completing the proposal to establish Thai Nguyen University Branch in Dien Bien province (on the basis of Dien Bien Pedagogical College and Dien Bien Medical College) according to the provisions of law. This decision takes effect from July 25, 2025.
According to Lao Dong's research, Thai Nguyen University Branch in Dien Bien province will have its headquarters at Dien Bien Pedagogical College.
Regarding the training plan, in 2025-2026, continue to train 2 college-level majors: preschool education and nursing; 3 intermediate majors (nursing, general medicine, pharmacy).
At the same time, develop the following sectors: Primary education; preschool education; tourism and travel service management (or tourism); Vietnamese language and Vietnamese culture.
In the 2026-2030 period, there will be training in Mong language pedagogical skills; historical - geographical pedagogical skills; Chinese language; nursing; forestry (specializing in combined agriculture and forestry); animal husbandry - veterinary medicine; medicine; economy (or digital economy); natural science pedagogical skills; agricultural technology.
With an annual enrollment scale of 450 to 700 students at intermediate, college, and university levels.
