Recently, the Hanoi People's Council passed a resolution on funding support for implementing the bonus regime under Decree 73 for public schools that pilot autonomy or are selected to pilot service orders.
Accordingly, Hanoi will spend nearly 255 billion VND to provide teachers with bonuses according to this decree, which is the latest in the country.
The amount is equivalent to 10% of the total salary fund for the 2024-2025 school year of more than 380 autonomous high schools or selected to pilot service orders.
To know the amount of bonuses that teachers will receive according to Decree 73, teachers should base on the following regulations:
According to Decree 73 on the bonus regime for civil servants, public employees and armed forces as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 2 of Decree 73/2024/ND-CP, civil servants, public employees and armed forces are rewarded based on outstanding work achievements and the results of annual assessment and classification of task completion levels.
Thus, to receive bonuses, the head of the agency with the authority to manage or delegate the authority to manage cadres and civil servants of public service units is responsible for developing specific regulations to implement the bonus regime applicable to the subjects on the salary list of the agency or unit.
In particular, the Bonus Regulations of agencies and units must include the following contents: Scope and subjects of application; Bonus criteria based on outstanding work achievements and based on the results of assessment and classification of the annual task completion level of salary recipients in the agency or unit; Specific bonus levels for each case.
The bonus level for the results of the assessment and classification of the annual task completion level is calculated according to the following levels:

Level 1 (individuals completing tasks excellently): Bonus equal to 3.0 times the basic periodic bonus;
- Level 2 (individuals who complete their tasks well): Bonus equal to 2.4 times the basic periodic bonus;
- Level 3 (individual completing tasks): Bonus equal to 1.0 times the basic periodic bonus.
Thus, based on the salary fluctuation from the basic salary of 1.8 million VND to 2.34 million VND/month from July 1, 2024, teachers can calculate the bonus that they can receive according to Decree 73, the highest which can be received by 7 million VND (if they complete their tasks excellently).
In addition to receiving bonuses based on the results of the assessment and classification of the annual task completion level calculated according to the above formula, teachers will also be awarded for outstanding work achievements (for example, achievements in training excellent students, finalists, excellent teacher competitions...)
This extraordinary achievement bonus will depend on the facility. The unit's leaders will base on the amount allocated according to Decree 73 to balance and award special achievements to teachers, but must develop a reward payment regulation.
Before Hanoi decided to pay bonuses to teachers according to Decree 73, many localities across the country had already done this. According to the survey, the amount of bonuses for teachers ranges from 4-7 million VND/person.
