On March 2, the Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee just directed the establishment of a Steering Committee to implement the Project "Making English a second language in schools in the period 2025 - 2035, with a vision to 2045".
Along with that, the Project to strengthen foreign language teaching and learning in the period 2025 - 2035, with orientations to 2045 in the province is also mentioned.
The Steering Committee consists of 18 members headed by Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Ha Nhat Le. The Standing Deputy Head is Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hien - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training.
In addition, the Steering Committee includes representatives of leaders of many departments, agencies, branches, unions and armed forces in the province, to ensure synchronous coordination in the implementation process.
According to the decision, the Steering Committee has the task of advising and assisting the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in directing the implementation of two projects suitable to local practical conditions; mobilizing and using resources effectively; removing difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process.
The Department of Education and Training is the standing agency, responsible for advising and organizing implementation according to the direction of the Government and the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The establishment of the Steering Committee shows the province's determination to concretize the policy of improving the quality of education, especially foreign language education.
For a mountainous province with many difficulties like Cao Bang, gradually making English the second language in schools is not only a requirement for education innovation but also an important solution to improve the quality of human resources, expand learning opportunities and jobs for students, especially in remote and isolated areas.
