The Lao Cai Specialized High School construction project was approved by the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee for implementation in the period of 2021-2025 with a total investment of 350 billion VND.
The Lao Cai Specialized High School construction project is invested by the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board with a construction scale including the following items: classroom block, department - headquarters - exam; library - hall with 2 blocks with a total construction floor area of about 34,849m2; canteen and service block with a total construction floor area of about 1,184m2.
Other items such as multi-purpose gymnasium with a total construction floor area of about 3,815m2; kitchen and student dormitory with a total construction floor area of about 6,103m2; exterior and auxiliary works, technical systems, fire prevention and fighting systems.
The project started in February 2024 and is expected to be basically completed by July 2025.
The consortium of Duc Tuan Construction Investment Company Limited - Truong Son Company Limited - Duc Manh General Construction Company Limited - Dysaring - Dysaring Company Limited - 19.8 Construction Company Limited is in charge of the construction.

According to observations, after many months of construction, a series of blocks of houses in the project have now taken shape, only a few are in the process of completing the rough construction. Of which, the volume of items has basically reached about 95%.
The entire project is being urgently implemented with hundreds of workers, striving to basically complete the rough construction to then construct the interior and teaching equipment.
Mr. Truong Van Bay - Deputy Commander of the project said: "Currently, the contractor is mobilizing hundreds of workers, along with many machines and equipment to construct the project items. The project's progress is currently about 95%. We are striving to basically complete all rough items to hand over to interior construction units".
Lao Cai Specialized High School was established in July 2003.
In 2009, the school was recognized as a National Standard School for the period 2009 - 2010, in 2010, the school was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister. In 2023, Lao Cai Specialized High School was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President.
To date, the school has had 2,221 excellent students at the provincial level; 556 excellent student awards at the national level.
In 2024, Lao Cai Specialized High School won 6 medals at the Scientific Conference of specialized schools in the Northern Coastal and Delta regions.
