Leaders of Dong Thap University (DThU) said that in the 2026 enrollment plan, the school set a enrollment scale of 6,470 target students studying 58 training majors. Among them, there are 6 new majors, belonging to the STEM field, with orienting significance, including: Cybersecurity; Biology; Physics; Agricultural Technology; Electrical and electronics engineering (microcircuits); Transportation construction engineering.

It is known that DThU is one of the 14 key higher education institutions approved by the Prime Minister in the teacher training network plan to 2030, vision to 2050.
In parallel with the training of 58 university-level majors, DThU also trains 18 master's majors and 3 doctoral majors; and at the same time develops programs for both working and studying and distance learning, meeting the requirements of lifelong learning in the context of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training.

Not only actively opening new training majors, close to actual needs, DThU also synchronously implements support policies for learners. In addition to new STEM training majors on the list entitled to preferential credit policies according to Decision No. 29/2025/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, students studying majors such as Semiconductor Microchips, Network Security or Agricultural Technology can access preferential loans with low interest rates, appropriate loan terms and flexible norms to reduce financial pressure.

To reassure students to pursue majors with high investment requirements in learning conditions, the school also implements scholarship programs to encourage learning, supporting ethnic minority students and students studying majors in the fields of agriculture and fishery, contributing to ensuring fairness in access to higher education.

At the same time, DThU also pays special attention to linking improving training quality with job creation opportunities. Through strengthening links between schools and businesses, production facilities and science and technology organizations, cooperation activities, DThU is facilitated for students to participate in internships, professional experiences and gradually access a real working environment right during their studies.
