Tuyen Quang province currently has 1,079 educational and training institutions; 1,803 school sites; 17,329 classes with more than 506,000 students.
According to statistics as of November 1, 2025, the entire Tuyen Quang education sector has 30, 510 public employees who are managers, teachers, and staff (excluding contracts), a shortage of 1,722 people compared to the assigned target.
If compared according to the norms specified in Circulars No. 19 and 20 of the Ministry of Education and Training, the entire sector still lacks 5,519 civil servant staff, of which teachers alone lack 3,794 staff.

The shortage of teachers in Tuyen Quang occurs at most levels of education. Especially, focusing on essential subjects such as Math, English, Informatics, and natural sciences.
The shortage of teachers causes many difficulties for schools, forcing many teachers to teach overtime and concurrently perform many tasks.
At Sung Thai Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School (Thang Mo commune), in the 2025-2026 school year, the school is short of 12 teachers in English, Math, History, and Geography subjects.
Meanwhile, the school has 20 classes but only 27 management staff and teachers. This makes the school board of directors have to directly participate in teaching, and many teachers have to concurrently hold many jobs at the same time.
A similar situation also occurred in Pho Bang commune. Through review, schools here all faced difficulties in subject classrooms, libraries, and teaching equipment. Especially a shortage of 15 preschool and secondary school teachers in the 2025-2026 school year.
To solve the immediate problem, Pho Bang Commune People's Committee has mobilized teachers to strengthen between school units, ensuring the maintenance of teaching and learning activities.
Ms. Phuc Thi Thuyen - Pho Bang Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School, has taken on the task of periodically increasing two sessions per week to support Pho La Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School when the locality lacks teachers for Civic Education.

According to Ms. Truong Hong Hanh - Vice Principal of Pho Bang Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School, this school year has 11 classes with 451 students. However, there are only 17 teachers, lacking 5 teachers in Math, English, Biology and Literature.
The solution agreed upon by the school is to increase teachers from other schools in the commune, the school board directly teaches classes, arranges overtime teaching according to regulations. At the same time, it supports schools lacking teachers in subjects where the school still has enough staff.
Faced with the above situation, the Department of Education and Training of Tuyen Quang province has proposed many solutions to overcome the shortage of teachers at all levels. In which, the focus is on coordinating with the Department of Home Affairs to advise the Provincial People's Committee on the teacher recruitment plan.
Review the staff to mobilize and deploy teachers from surplus to deficit areas. Organize online teaching to support subjects that are still facing difficulties in terms of human resources in remote and isolated areas.
