On the afternoon of April 23, at a regular press conference on the socio-economic situation of the city, Mr. Ho Tan Minh - Chief of Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, said that the enrollment system has recorded about 50,000 students registering 10th grade aspirations.
The registration time for aspirations lasts until 5 pm on April 28.
Mr. Minh added that, to prepare for the exam, the city's education sector has requested schools to develop plans to review and consolidate knowledge for 9th grade students.
Schools are required to closely coordinate with parents in organizing learning and exam preparation for students in a scientific direction; ensuring nutrition, rest time, and avoiding excessive pressure.
Preparations for the exam are being deployed synchronously, including training invigilators, grading; coordinating with the police force and local authorities to ensure the exam takes place safely and seriously.
The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year takes place in two days 1-2. 6. Candidates take three compulsory subjects including Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language; in cases of registering for specialized or integrated classes, they will take additional subjects accordingly.
Each student is allowed to register a maximum of 3 aspirations for public high schools (regular system) and 2 aspirations for specialized classes in 4 specialized schools or 3 aspirations for integrated classes in 10 high schools with this type of enrollment.
Candidates who participate in the integrated English program (according to Project 5695) at the secondary school level in Ho Chi Minh City can register 2 more aspirations for specialized English classes (according to Project 5695) at 2 specialized high schools Le Hong Phong and Tran Dai Nghia, raising the total number of aspirations to a maximum of 8 aspirations.
Students in other provinces and cities who need to register for the entrance exam to specialized schools in the city will submit applications to register for the exam at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted.
It is expected that on May 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will announce the number of candidates registering for each high school. Based on this data, parents and students can adjust their aspirations until before 5 pm on May 8. The adjustment only applies to the order or choice of aspirations, without adding new ones or removing them from the exam list.
