On the afternoon of August 18, the closing ceremony of the 25th International Mathematical Competition - VIMC 2025 was held at the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communications Technology, University of Da Nang (VKU).
The exam is organized according to international standards, taking place from August 14 to August 18, at the Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU), University of Da Nang, with the participation of 526 candidates, 181 teachers, 100 international guests from 30 countries and territories.
The exam consists of two groups: Key Stage II (grade 5 - 6) and Key Stage III (grade 7 - 8). Each student participates in 2 mandatory rounds: Individual round and team competition.
Coming to Vietnam, the exam is a meaningful activity to strengthen international friendship, exchange and cooperation in the field of applied Mathematics; this is a place for students, teachers and experts from other countries to exchange knowledge, share experiences, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning Mathematics.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City - said that 553 contestants from 29 countries and territories, along with the host team Vietnam, brought the 25th International Mathematical Competition - VIMC 2025, a vibrant, pure and friendly atmosphere.
The contestants competed fairly and honestly, demonstrating their talent and creativity, while leaving a deep impression on international friends and the people of Da Nang city.
"This year's exam is not only a place to challenge your intelligence, but also an opportunity for students to experience culture, expand friendship, exchange and share. The memorable moments in Da Nang - the city of peace, creativity and integration - will certainly be a valuable luggage for children on their journey to study and mature," Mr. Tuan emphasized.
At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the Exam awarded prizes at three levels: individual, team and whole group. The overall championship belongs to Vietnam and Singapore.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded cultural exchange prizes, game prizes, individual prizes, team prizes in individual competitions, team prizes in collective competitions and major prizes. Of which, the Vietnamese individual championship has 6 gold prizes, 4 silver prizes, 8 bronze prizes.
Also at the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented the IMC 2026 flag to the Mongolian team.
