On October 10, the People's Committee of Ba Don Ward (Quang Tri Province) issued a document requesting Ba Don Primary School No. 1 to seriously review and learn from the collectives and individuals involved after the incident of the boarding meal being reported on social networks.
Previously, the image of a rice tray worth 25,000 VND, which was considered a boarding meal for students at the school, including white rice, sausage, eggs and a little vegetables, attracted many mixed comments.
According to the inspection results of the Ward People's Committee, the meals on October 6, 2025 were not in accordance with the public menu, the menu quantity was lacking, and the quality of the meals was not balanced in nutrition.
The supervision and management of the Principal and the Kitchen Supervision Team is not strict, the coordination of the parent-teacher association in the work, care, nurturing and education of students has not been focused on.
The Ward People's Committee requested the school's Principal to review and rectify the entire boarding organization process, ensuring compliance with regulations on food hygiene and safety and food portion sizes for students.
At the same time, strengthen internal supervision, publicize daily menu and meal images on the news board and Zalo groups of each class for parents to monitor.
The ward also requested the school to closely coordinate with the Parents' Representative Board in caring for, nurturing, and educating students; organize reviews, draw lessons from related individuals and groups and report the results to the Ward People's Committee before October 14, 2025.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, social networks have seen a picture of a rice tray with 3 pieces of sausage, 1 boiled egg, a dish of sesame salt and vegetable soup, which is said to be a meal worth 25,000 VND at the school.
The image quickly attracted many comments saying that such a portion was too small compared to the price, making it difficult to ensure nutrition for boarding students.
On the same afternoon, the People's Committee of Ba Don Ward confirmed that it had grasped the information and worked directly with the school, requesting specific reports and reviewing the entire meal supply process to ensure quality and food safety for students.
After that, the school's principal wrote an apology letter, committing to parents and students about ensuring the quality of students' meals.
