On April 28, at the 23rd Session (special session), the 13th term People's Council of Binh Dinh province, term 2021-2026, unanimously approved the resolutions on the policy of arranging administrative units of Binh Dinh province and Gia Lai province; the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units of Binh Dinh province in 2025.
The meeting also passed the Resolution to adjust and supplement the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025; adjust and supplement public investment plans in 2025; Resolution on allocating budget capital of the province to participate in the project of construction investment in Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway; stipulate the funding level to support the operation of the commune -level People's Inspection Board in the province.
For the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway project, delegates agreed to allocate 750 billion VND from the list of infrastructure works for land fund development and resettlement areas to carry out compensation, site clearance and resettlement in the medium-term construction period of 2021-2025.
The Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway project has a total estimated investment of about VND43,510 billion, with a total length of about 125km, of which about 40km passes through Binh Dinh province and about 85km through Gia Lai province. The starting point of the project is in Nhon My commune (An Nhon town, Binh Dinh province) and the end point is in Ia Kenh commune (Pleiku city, Gia Lai province).
When completed, the project will shorten travel time between the Central and Central Highlands coastal areas, promote regional linkages, socio-economic development of Binh Dinh and Gia Lai provinces, and enhance international connectivity through Le Thanh border gate and East-West traffic routes.
Previously, in the Conclusion Notice of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the working session with the Standing Committee of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee on March 22, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Construction to urgently establish the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway project, submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision on investment policy in May 2025, striving to start construction in 2025.
