Due to storm No. 11 and the storm's circulation causing widespread flooding, floodwaters in recent days have caused serious erosion of the railway section from Km16+700 - Km18+300 in Trung Gia commune, on the Dong Anh - Quan Trieu route. There are 3 most serious locations, including the location where floodwaters washed away the entire roadbed of a 40m long, about 4m deep; the rails were "suspended", forming a large hole like a broken dike, floodwaters flowing rapidly downstream completely paralyzed the railway line.

On the morning of October 11, speaking with reporters, Director of Ha Thai Railway Joint Stock Company - Mr. Nguyen Tam said that to rescue the flooded section, the railway industry mobilized hundreds of human resources and machinery, carrying rocks all night to fill the railway locations where the roadbed was swept away by floodwaters, and the rails were "floating" in Trung Gia, Hanoi City.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tam, since October 10, the railway has mobilized human resources, equipment, and machinery to organize 3 shifts of construction, urgently rescuing railway locations that were eroded by floodwaters.

"As soon as the incident was discovered, the company mobilized forces to be on duty, survey the damage and develop a handling plan, and regularly inspect and guard to respond promptly," said Mr. Tam.
Immediately after the incident, Vietnam Railway Corporation inspected the scene and agreed on a solution: transporting boulders from stone quarries in Dong Mo, Thinh Chau, Phuc Yen areas to dump rocks, release stone baskets, and "fill" the erosion points.
A representative of Vietnam Railways Corporation said that by this morning (October 11), 2 points had been fixed to be able to run ships carrying rocks and materials to reach the most severe location, focusing on rescue. The immediate goal is to prevent upstream floods from overflowing the roadbed, ensuring safety for downstream residential areas; then deploy the restoration of railways and restore train operations.
