Late on November 17, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen signed a decision to declare a natural disaster emergency on Prenn Pass, km224+600 - km224+700, on National Highway 20.
The cause was heavy rain lasting from the evening of November 15 to the morning of November 17, causing serious landslides. The landslide is about 100m long, 7.5m wide, including the road surface and the negative slope retaining wall. Landslides are complicated and there is a risk of continuing to occur if there are no emergency response measures.

The Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Construction to direct relevant units: Regular warnings on the pass, on duty at 24/24, monitoring and assessing natural disaster developments; traffic flow and route allocation to ensure safe traffic; identifying causes and proposing immediate remedies to avoid congestion.
Relevant agencies must promptly update the developments of natural disasters, report to the Provincial People's Committee and the Civil Defense Command for direction.

At the same time, coordinate with the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1 and related units to survey, evaluate, and propose emergency solutions to ensure traffic.
The People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat is responsible for coordinating the evacuation of people at the foot of hills, mountains, and dangerous areas, closing down 24/7 duty, absolutely not allowing people to return when safety is not guaranteed.

Departments, branches, the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Police proactively plan to respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters according to their functions and tasks.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on the morning of November 17, a landslide occurred on Prenn Pass through Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward, causing part of the road surface to be washed away, forcing authorities to ban traffic.
Also on the same morning, the Traffic Police of Lam Dong Province Police organized checkpoints at both ends to direct traffic, regulate vehicles traveling through Mimosa Pass or Sacom Pass (Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area) to replace Prenn Pass.
