In early May 2026, returning to D'ran Pass at Km262+400 - Km262+530 (Treo bridge area), the landslide site in 2025 is still an unfinished construction site.
Here, many large landslide marks have not been thoroughly treated. The construction site is deserted of workers and construction machinery.

Previously, on the night of October 28, 2025, about 60,000m3 of soil and rocks fell, paralyzing National Highway 20. Although initial repairs have been made to temporarily open traffic, this area still has high potential risks.
Currently, the construction unit has only leveled and unloaded part of the hillside, while geological cracks are still dense, the negative slope exposes weak soil, and the embankment system is not complete.

The slow processing progress has been prolonged even though about 5 billion VND has been allocated for urgent remedial work. At many times, the construction site almost stopped operating, and machinery was idle. The main reason is obstacles in coordination between units.
The negative slope reinforcement part implemented by Project Management Board 85 has not been completed to date. This makes it impossible for subsequent items such as reinforcement rock cages at the foot of the mountain to be deployed synchronously.

Mr. Hoang Tan Dung - representative of Project Management Board 85 - said that the unit is focusing on overcoming difficulties and accelerating the remaining items, including the retaining wall in the landslide area.
Other items under the authority of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee and Department of Construction.

Not only affecting traffic safety, this situation also affects cargo transportation. Many heavy-duty vehicles have to take detours, increasing costs and causing difficulties for people.
In the context of the upcoming rainy season, the risk of landslides is even greater. If progress is not accelerated in the remaining time of the dry season, just heavy rain, the landslide point may recur, threatening traffic safety and people's lives.
