The Tu Lien Bridge project across the Red River started construction on May 19 with a total length of 5.15km of bridge and approach road. The total investment is nearly 20,000 billion VND. The Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is the investor.
Tu Lien Bridge connects Ring Road 1 in Tay Ho District with Truong Sa Road in Dong Anh District. The bridge section has a cable-stayed structure of 43 m wide, a 500 m main span steel beam, and a 185 m high tower). The approach road is 48 m to 60 m wide with technical infrastructure works.

Recorded on June 5, after half a month of official construction, the approach road on the Dong Anh district side has been accelerated because most of the site has been handed over.
Part of the approach road adjacent to the National Exhibition Center has been paved with asphalt. Other locations are under construction, paving with stone and auxiliary technical items.
Tu Lien Bridge and connecting roads play a role in reducing congestion and overloading existing bridges across the Red River. This river crossing project also plays a role in quickly connecting the center of Hanoi with the North and Northeast of the Red River.

With the length of the main span and the height of the tower tower, the cross-legged diagram on a flat surface will create an architectural highlight. After completion in 2027, Tu Lien Bridge will be one of the iconic bridges of Hanoi City.
With the urgent and important nature of Tu Lien Bridge, at the groundbreaking ceremony, the Prime Minister requested the investor and contractors to speed up the progress, setting a target of completing 6 months ahead of schedule.
Currently, Hanoi has 9 bridges across the Red River (Thang Long, Chuong Duong, Vinh Tuy, Thanh Tri, Nhat Tan, Vinh Thinh, Long Bien, Van Lang, Trung Ha).
According to the plan until 2030, with a vision to 2050, Hanoi will have 9 more bridges across the river, namely Tu Lien, Tran Hung Dao, Van Phuc, Hong Ha, Me So bridges (ring 4), Thang Long New (ring 3), Thuong Cat, Ngoc Hoi (ring 3.5), Phu Xuyen.
In 2025, Hanoi is continuing to direct investors to complete documents and plan to start construction of 6 major bridge projects such as: Hong Ha bridge, Me So bridge (ring 4); Thuong Cat, Ngoc Hoi bridge (ring 3.5); Tran Hung Dao bridge and Van Phuc bridge.
