On the morning of February 19, Mr. Hoang Trung Thong - Head of the Department of Transport, Vehicle and Driver Management of the Department of Transport of Quang Tri province - said that from February 18, this unit has temporarily stopped receiving applications for issuing, exchanging and reissuing driver's licenses.
The reason for temporarily suspending the reception of documents for issuance, exchange and re-issuance of driving licenses is to ensure the settlement of all documents received before February 19, 2025 according to the direction of the Vietnam Road Administration.
Previously, on February 12, 2025, the Vietnam Road Administration sent a document to the provincial Department of Transport, informing that it would hand over the task of testing and granting driving licenses (in the form of driving licenses) from the Ministry of Transport to the Ministry of Public Security before February 19, 2025, so all documents received before February 19 must be resolved.
As of 8:30 a.m. on February 19, at the Department of Transport of Quang Tri province, there were still nearly 300 dossiers for issuing, exchanging, and reissuing driver's licenses that had not been resolved.
To promptly process the received documents, from February 18, the provincial Department of Transport mobilized an additional group of 4 people from the Department of Transport Vocational College and the Quang Tri Provincial Driving Test Center to the Department of Transport, Vehicle and Driver Management. Here, officers work through the day and night until 10pm to work to process documents, while the two printers print the driving licenses until night.
"In Quang Tri province, 7:30 am is during office hours, but this morning at 7:00 am, we were there to work through noon and it is expected to be until evening to be able to process the remaining nearly 300 records" - Mr. Hoang Trung Thong informed.
