Reasons for site clearance problems in the Mui Ne tourist road upgrade project

Lam Dong - The project to upgrade 4.8km of tourist road in Mui Ne is behind schedule because many households do not agree to receive compensation money and do not allow inventory.

Over the past time, the project to repair and upgrade Nguyen Dinh Chieu - Huynh Thuc Khang road (section from Hoang Ngoc tourist area to Lang Chai intersection) through Mui Ne ward (Lam Dong province) has been implemented but the progress is still slow.

The main reason is difficulties in site clearance. Prolonged construction has caused traffic on this key tourist axis to encounter many inconveniences, affecting people's lives and tourism activities.

The project is about 4.8km long, with a total investment of more than 309 billion VND. This is an important coastal road, connecting a chain of resorts, hotels, and tourist service points along Ham Tien - Mui Ne.

On January 9, the Phan Thiet Regional Construction Investment Project Management Board (under Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 2) said that so far the project has only reached about 26% of the contract volume.

Recorded on the construction site, contractors are organizing many construction teams in sections that already have ground clearance. Some areas have completed roadbed items, sidewalk bundles and sidewalk tiles. However, because the ground has not been handed over synchronously, construction is still spread out, and it is not possible to accelerate the progress of the entire route.

Regarding site clearance, the project has a total recovered land area of nearly 86,000m2 with 483 compensation dossiers. To date, functional agencies have approved compensation plans for 344 dossiers and paid for 282 dossiers.

The remaining 62 dossiers have not been paid, of which 50 households do not agree to receive compensation money; 12 dossiers have just been approved and are in the process of completing payment procedures.

Notably, the project still has about 55 dossiers that cannot be counted. Among these, 17 households do not allow counting because they do not agree on the land recovery plan deviating towards the sea according to the approved planned road center.

Households propose that land acquisition must be carried out on both sides, hillside and sea side, calculated from the center of the existing road.

About 50 households and individuals did not agree to receive compensation because they believed that the land in front of the road was land being used legally, while the ward's legal advisory council determined that this was traffic land, under the management of the State.

Faced with the above situation, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh requested Mui Ne Ward People's Committee to urgently accelerate the progress of compensation and site clearance.

Provincial leaders emphasized the need to strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to soon receive compensation money and hand over land so that the project can be implemented according to plan.

In case households still do not agree, the locality needs to review legal regulations and study the next steps to ensure the overall progress of the project.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Task Force to monitor and supervise the progress weekly, with specific commitments on the workload.

For construction units, when there is land, it is necessary to mobilize maximum manpower and machinery, deploy construction immediately, avoiding the situation where there is land but the construction site is slow to operate.

The project to upgrade the Nguyen Dinh Chieu - Huynh Thuc Khang road is of great significance for the development of Mui Ne tourism. Early removal of land "knotholes" will accelerate progress, creating convenience for people and tourists to travel when Tet Nguyen Dan approaches.
