On August 3, at the construction site of the civil aviation item of Phan Thiet Airport (Mui Ne ward), many machines and engineers and workers are urgently constructing to speed up the project progress.
After more than 3 months since the groundbreaking day, the project's appearance has gradually taken shape. Many foundation items have been completed, creating a premise for deploying the next items according to the plan.
According to the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province, by the beginning of August, the contractor had completed the construction site operating office, finished piloting the passenger terminal and air traffic control tower.
Currently, the construction unit is deploying mass pile driving for the passenger terminal and air traffic control tower. In parallel, there are items such as clearing, peeling organic soil, leveling the taxiway area, aircraft parking lot, regulating lake and auxiliary works.
To ensure progress, Phan Thiet Sun Airfield Co., Ltd. has mobilized nearly 40 machines and equipment and nearly 70 engineers and workers working at the construction site. In the coming time, the unit will continue to supplement manpower and equipment to accelerate construction volume.
For fire prevention and fighting appraisal dossiers, the investor has completed and submitted them to functional agencies for consideration. After having the appraisal results, many items will continue to be implemented synchronously according to the plan.
Inspecting the construction progress at the project, Mr. Dang Hong Sy - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee requested the investor to mobilize machinery and human resources to accelerate the progress.
At the same time, develop a detailed schedule for deploying project items in the form of a Gantt diagram, in accordance with the contract implementation deadline. The requirement is to ensure the completion of construction work and technical infrastructure system within the committed time.
According to the design, Phan Thiet Airport is a dual-use airport including a military area and a civil area. In which, the military item has been completed and put into use from the end of 2025.
The civil aviation item is invested according to 4E-class airport standards, with a total capital of nearly 3,900 billion VND, with a capacity scale of about 2 million passengers per year by 2030.
The project has a land use area of 75 hectares in Mui Ne ward, including a passenger terminal, aircraft parking lot, taxiway, air traffic control tower and many synchronous technical infrastructure works.
According to the plan, the project will be completed and put into operation in 2027. When put into operation, Phan Thiet Airport is expected to expand the connection of inter-regional economic and tourism space. At the same time, it creates motivation for tourism development, attracts investment in trade and services, and promotes economic growth in the eastern region of Lam Dong province.
