Hanoi - Machinery is gathered by the contractor to prepare for the construction of Mai Linh bridge under the project to expand National Highway 6, Ba La - Xuan Mai section.

The project to upgrade and renovate National Highway 6 (Ba La - Xuan Mai section) was approved by the Hanoi People's Committee in Decision No. 969/QD-UBND dated March 18, 2022.

The project started construction at the end of 2022 with a total length of about 21.7km (the section through Ha Dong district is 5.92km long; the section through Chuong My district is 15.87km long).

According to the design, the route is 50-60m wide, with a design speed of 80km/h.

The project has four main intersections, including intersections of different levels (where two or more roads intersect at different elevations) with National Highway 21A, the North-South axis road and Ring Road 4.

On the route, there is a box culvert (Tuan culvert) and seven bridges including: Mai Linh, Dong Tru, Tan Truong, Quan Lat, Xuan Mai, Song Bui and Nam Lu.

Up to now, Tan Tru Bridge (Chuong My district) is in the process of building a unit on the right of the route. The contractor also gathered machinery to prepare to deploy the construction of the original Mai Linh Bridge on the right (Ha Dong district).

The People's Committee of Ha Dong District is the investor of component project 1.1 on compensation, support and resettlement for site clearance of the project, with a preliminary total estimated investment of about VND 3,886 billion; capital from the city budget and the central budget.

The total land area to be recovered for the project is about 26.46 hectares, involving 1,146 households and individuals. The number of households expected to be resettled is about 317 households.

To carry out the site clearance for the project to upgrade and renovate National Highway 6 through Ha Dong district, up to now, the Ha Dong District Investment and Construction Project Management Board has coordinated with the People's Committees of wards with recovered land to complete the measurement work on site.

Accordingly, Bien Giang ward has 360 plots of land; Yen Nghia ward has 378 plots of land; Dong Mai ward has 266 plots of land; Phu Lam ward has 56 plots of land and Phu La ward has 6 plots of land within the boundary, limiting land acquisition.

The Ha Dong District Construction Investment Project Management Board has worked with the Hanoi Land Registration Office and the People's Committees of wards whose land was recovered to implement the project to agree on the measurement records.

Along with that, the Management Board has sent documents related to compensation and support policies and site clearance to households whose land has been recovered and the wards have organized the dissemination of compensation and support policies for all organizations and individuals whose land has been recovered.

In Chuong My district, the total land area recovered to implement the project is about 85 hectares. Up to now, this locality has handed over the site to the investor and contractor with an area of about 60 hectares to implement the project.

For the remaining area that has not been cleared due to problems in confirming land origin, the application of the site clearance policy mechanism will be implemented in transition from the 2013 Land Law to the 2024 Land Law.

In addition, within the scope of site clearance for project implementation, there are floating infrastructure works that must be moved, national defense land is reclaimed and changed to serve the purpose of socio-economic development, grave relocation, etc.

The People's Committee of Chuong My district has reported to the City People's Committee, departments and branches for guidance on removing obstacles and trying to complete site clearance in the first quarter of 2026.

The National Highway 6 expansion project is expected to be completed in 2027, hoping to overcome congestion, synchronously connect technical infrastructure, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Ha Dong district, Chuong My district in particular and Hanoi city in general.
