The project to renovate and expand Nguyen Tuan Street according to the planning is one of the key traffic projects in Thanh Xuan district (Hanoi).
The project was approved in 2018, with a total investment of about 400 billion VND.
Starting point at Nguyen Trai intersection, ending point at lane 162 Nguyen Tuan, 720m long, expanded on the basis of the existing road. When completed, the route will have a cross-section of 21m, including a 15m wide roadway and 3m wide shoulders.
By 2020, Thanh Xuan District People's Committee approved the project's construction drawing design in Decision No. 1928/QD-UBND.
Initially, Thanh Xuan district set a target to approve all compensation and site clearance plans by the end of 2022. By mid-2023, the project will be implemented and the road expansion will be completed after 1 year.
However, the project has not been able to be implemented yet. Site clearance is the most difficult and stuck issue causing the project to stagnate.
According to Vice Chairman of Thanh Xuan District People's Committee Le Hong Thang, one of the key tasks in 2024 of Thanh Xuan District and Thanh Xuan Trung Ward is to focus on implementing the project to renovate and expand Nguyen Tuan Street according to the planning.
In order for the project to be implemented soon, recently, the district and ward's site clearance working groups have visited each family, met to propagate and mobilize; grasped the thoughts and aspirations, listened to the recommendations of the households, and proposed solutions to ensure the rights of the people.
To date, 11/11 organizations have handed over the premises; more than 100/160 households have agreed to receive money and hand over the premises.
In the remaining cases of disagreement, the authorities continue to strengthen propaganda and mobilization work so that people can soon hand over the land for the project.
It is expected that by mid-October 2024, the land acquisition and site clearance for the Nguyen Tuan Street upgrade and expansion project will be basically completed. The local government will then hand over the site to the investor and contractor to complete the project.
The project to upgrade and expand Nguyen Tuan Street is expected to be completed in 2025, expected to reduce traffic congestion, bring urban landscape as well as create momentum for socio-economic development in Thanh Xuan Trung Ward and Thanh Xuan District.
