According to the Department of Construction of Quang Tri province, the expressway project through the area includes three component projects: the Vung Ang - Bung section is 42.44km long, the Bung - Van Ninh section is 48.84km long and the Van Ninh - Cam Lo section is 65.53km long. The total length of the entire route is more than 156km, with 11 intersections and three rest stops located in Hoa Trach commune, Dong Son ward and Con Tien commune.
To implement the project, more than 1,481 hectares of land must be reclaimed, of which more than 753 hectares of forest need to be converted for use. The project also affects 852 households who have to be relocated and relocate nearly 4,800 graves, along with many technical infrastructure works such as high-voltage power systems and telecommunications.

Up to now, all site clearance work for the main route has reached 100%. All 35 resettlement areas have been completed, stabilizing housing for households. The relocation of technical infrastructure, arrangement of material mines, dumping sites, and announcement of material prices are all implemented synchronously, creating great convenience for construction.
However, progress is still facing obstacles in many auxiliary items. Specifically, the additional site of the rest stop at Km725+500 in Con Tien commune has not been completed; some sections of the fence and service road through Bo Trach, Hoan Lao, Truong Phu, Kim Ngan communes are still unfinished.
The leader of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province said that from now until mid-July is the final stage, so the People's Committee of Quang Tri province has requested the People's Committees of communes and wards that are investors in sub-projects for site clearance to proactively and thoroughly handle the backlog. At the same time, the Department of Construction and the Department of Agriculture and Environment need to coordinate in guiding and removing obstacles, ensuring unity in implementation.

The provincial leaders also requested Project Management Board 6, Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board to urgently transfer funds, fully assess the level of impact on households near the border to clear land and complete procedures to return affected residential roads.
In case people have been compensated in accordance with regulations but still do not hand over the site, localities must propagate and mobilize; if necessary, develop a construction protection plan, and resolutely strive to complete the national key project on schedule.
