Nghe An batks hands to clear the North-South high-speed railway site

Nghe An - The North-South high-speed railway project passing through the province is 85.5km long, affecting 2,150 households.

On July 8, information from Nghe An Provincial Party Committee said that the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee has just issued Decision No. 3995 to establish a Steering Committee and a Working Group to assist the Steering Committee for site clearance for the North-South high-speed railway project through the province.

The Steering Committee is headed by the Provincial Party Secretary, along with three Deputy Heads. In which, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee will hold the role of Deputy Head of the Standing Committee; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in charge of the transport sector will hold the position of Deputy Head of the Steering Committee.

The Steering Committee is responsible for advising the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to lead and direct local levels and sectors to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Construction, investors, and Project Management Boards to implement compensation, support, resettlement, and site handover to ensure progress and quality. The Committee will periodically or suddenly organize meetings, inspect, direct the removal of problems arising within the province's responsibility and advise competent authorities to handle issues according to regulations.

Along with that, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee decided to establish a working group of 16 members, headed by the Director of the Department of Construction. The working group is responsible for advising on the work program, preparing documents, reports, draft notices of the conclusions of the sessions and urging and inspecting the implementation of the Steering Committee's instructions.

The North-South high-speed railway project through Nghe An is 85.5 km long, with a pick-up and drop-off point at Vinh Station - expected to be located in Hung Tay Commune, the old Hung Nguyen District, between the 72m road of VSIP Industrial Park and the new National Highway 46. This is a 4-way station, all trains have stopped.

Vinh Depot is located in Lam Thanh Commune (Hung Nghia, the old Hung Nguyen District) to serve the exploitation of the Ngoc Hoi - Vinh section, performing maintenance and repair of locomotives and carriages. On the entire route through Nghe An, there will be 2 stations for mobilizing maintenance and storage vehicles: Station 1 in Dien Hong commune (old Dien Chau district), Station 2 combined in Vinh depot.

According to the latest review by the Department of Construction, the whole province has about 38 residential clusters affected by this railway line, with a total of 2,150 households having residential land within the project scope; of which, 1,942 households will be resettled.

It is expected that the feasibility study report of the project will be prepared from 2025 and basically completed by 2035.
