At the starting point of the National Highway 15D construction investment project, the section from My Thuy port to Cam Lo - La Son expressway, the road surface has been leveled and the roadbed has been filled.
Within the handed-over area, the Km0+412 - Km1+00 section, the contractor has organized leveling the ground, moving trees, and leveling the roadbed. In parallel, other units have built camps and organized beam casting yards to shorten progress and ensure that they can be launched and installed immediately after the lower ground is completed.
With the motto "complete marker planting to where, hand over to there", the work of planting piles for site clearance on sections across fields, about 3.6km long, although facing difficulties due to unfavorable weather, has now been completed, creating conditions for the locality to implement the next steps.

However, the project still has some problems, many sections of weak soil need time to wait for subsidence consolidation; some technical infrastructure works such as domestic water systems, 22kV, 0.4kV power lines, and railway information lines have not been relocated, affecting synchronous construction.
According to the Department of Construction - the project investor, by the end of February 2026, the project had handed over about 9.5% of the site volume. Construction units are focusing manpower and machinery at locations that have cleaned up the site and important bridge items. This is a completely new route, terrain through plains and low hills, intersecting with the North-South railway at Km13+802.
Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien said that with a large workload while the implementation time is not long, units need to coordinate closely, removing each bottleneck to ensure progress.
It is known that the National Highway 15D project has a total route length of 92.5km, starting from My Thuy port to La Lay International Border Gate. The section of National Highway 15D to Cam Lo - La Son expressway has a length of about 21km, designed according to grade III delta road standards, speed of 80km/h. The starting point is My Thuy port, the ending point intersects with the Cam Lo - La Son expressway access road. The project includes 4 component projects, with a total investment of 1,940 billion VND, invested by the Provincial Department of Construction, implemented in the period 2025-2027.
The project first serves My Thuy port, the first point on the East-West economic corridor connecting My Thuy port and La Lay International Border Gate of Quang Tri province, connecting with Salavan province of Laos and Ubon Ratchathani province of Thailand. The project is expected to create a lever to exploit the unique advantages of Quang Tri, playing a driving force in socio-economic development and national defense - security of the locality.
