Lam Dong - After many hours of paralysis due to landslides, Gia Bac Pass on National Highway 28 has reopened, vehicles moving in both directions normally.

On the morning of October 31, Mr. Vu Duc Nhuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Dien Commune (Lam Dong) - said: After many efforts, at 6:30 am on the same day, the forces were determined to complete the repair of landslides on Gia Bac Pass.

Hundreds of tons of soil and rock and a large number of fallen forest trees were cleared by the forces to ensure safety.

After completing the landslide repair work, Gia Bac Pass was officially opened to traffic, and vehicles traveling on National Highway 28 have resumed traffic in both directions.

According to the Chairman of Son Dien Commune People's Committee, this morning, the weather in the commune, especially at Gia Bac Pass, was sunny, so the risk of landslides was gone.

The weather is fine, creating favorable conditions for forces to continue to deploy work to overcome the shortcomings caused by landslides and subsidence in recent days.

Currently, Gia Bac commune is arranging police and militia forces to be on duty at Gia Bac Pass in coordination with road management units to promptly grasp the situation on the pass.

Thereby proactively and thoroughly overcoming the shortcomings caused by previous landslides, while at the same time diverting traffic to ensure traffic safety for people and drivers traveling through the pass safely.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper: Due to prolonged heavy rain, from October 27 to the afternoon of October 30, Gia Bac Pass on National Highway 28 through Son Dien Commune had 3 landslides.

According to statistics, there have been more than 12 landslides on Gia Bac Pass. During each landslide, this pass is almost completely paralyzed.

Gia Bac Pass is more than 10km long on National Highway 28 connecting Son Dien Commune with Ham Thuan Bac Commune to National Highway 1A. In the opposite direction, National Highway 28 connects with National Highway 20 to Da Lat and Ho Chi Minh City.
