On August 9, the Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province held an emergency meeting to discuss the design plan, in order to complete the Feasibility Study Report of the National Highway 24 upgrade project (section Km32 - Km89+513).
The project has been decided on investment policy by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 252/QD-UBND dated April 15, 2026 with a total estimated investment of about 2,350 billion VND. This is a key transportation project, carrying the expectation of changing the socio-economic face of people in mountainous areas and the whole province. The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 24 has a total construction length of about 48.4 km, passing through the communes of: Ba To, Ba To, Ba Dinh, Ba Vi and Kon Plong. Designed to meet minimum standards of level III and level IV mountain roads.
Opening up strong trade opportunities with major seaports such as Chu Lai, Dung Quat, while awakening the tourism and service potential of Mang Den eco-tourism area and Bo Y International border gate economic zone.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Nhan - Director of the Department of Construction directed consulting units to urgently absorb opinions and make the highest efforts to complete the Feasibility Study Report before August 15, 2026. At the same time, requesting the parties to strengthen coordination and immediately resolve arising problems so as not to delay the overall progress.
With the close direction of the Provincial People's Committee and the drastic involvement of the Department of Construction, the National Highway 24 upgrade project is being implemented in the right direction, promising to soon bring a safe and modern road, contributing to improving the quality of life for Quang Ngai people.
