The Hanoi Department of Construction has just announced a pilot plan to adjust traffic organization at the Nguyen Huu Tho intersection - route 17, Bac Linh Dam Urban Area; Hoang Liet - Nghiem Xuan Yem intersection - Nguyen Huu Tho and neighboring areas in Hoang Liet ward.
Accordingly, the Hanoi Department of Construction will close the Nguyen Huu Tho traffic light switch - route No. 17 of Bac Linh Dam Urban Area with concrete pillars, the length of the closed section is about 36m. At the same time, a new turning point will be opened on Nguyen Huu Tho Street with a width of 15m, about 270m from Nguyen Huu Tho signal light switch - route 17 of Bac Linh Dam Urban Area. This turning point will organize vehicles to turn in front of the intersection.
For vehicles on route 17 of Bac Linh Dam Urban Area that need to go to Giai Phong Street, they will go in two directions: Go to Nguyen Huu Tho Street → turn around at Nghiem Xuan Yem signal light button - Nguyen Huu Tho → go to Giai Phong.
Or follow the internal road in the Urban Area → turn right onto Dang Xuan Bang Street → Dai Tu → Nguyen Huu Tho → turn around at Nghiem Xuan Yem signal light button - Nguyen Huu Tho → go to Giai Phong.
Vehicles from Nguyen Huu Tho Street or from the branch to the elevated Ring Road 3 that needs to enter route 17 of Bac Linh Dam Urban Area will travel in the direction: Nguyen Huu Tho → turn around at the new opening point (270m from the intersection) → follow Dang Xuan Bang Street → Dai Tu → Bac Linh Dam Urban Area.
The pilot plan will be implemented by Hanoi City within 6 months, from September 14, 2025 to March 13, 2026.
The Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board is assigned to adjust the sign system, supplement traffic safety equipment, install directional signs, adjust paint lines in accordance with the pilot plan; at the same time, coordinate with the Traffic Control Center - City Police to adjust the traffic light system at Nguyen Huu Tho intersection - route No. 17, Bac Linh Dam Urban Area, Nguyen Huu Tho intersection - Nghiem Xuan Yem and neighboring bottles.
Adjusting traffic organization at the above-mentioned key intersections aims to reduce congestion, ensure safety and convenience for people when traveling. After the pilot period, the authorities will synthesize and evaluate the effectiveness to serve as a basis for official implementation or continue to adjust to suit the traffic reality of the area.
