On October 14, a representative of the Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police said that from October 1 to 14, 2024, to ensure traffic safety for children going to school, the Traffic Police of Hanoi City Police handled 3,099 cases of traffic safety violations involving students.
The police temporarily detained 1,657 vehicles; of which, 2,806 were helmet violations, 541 were unqualified to drive, and 151 were handled for handing over vehicles to unqualified drivers. According to the coordination regulations, the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police sent notices to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training about 1,904 cases of student violations. The Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police will continue to verify and handle the case when the violators come to the headquarters to resolve the matter according to regulations.
At the same time, the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police coordinated with the police of districts, towns, authorities, and schools in the area to organize over 90 traffic safety propaganda sessions, reaching 89,713 students and 3,850 teachers at all levels in the city.
Police at all levels organized the signing of traffic safety commitments with 35,792 middle and high school students; signed 1,482 commitments with parents about not giving vehicles to unqualified drivers; coordinated the organization of 15 volunteer teams to guide traffic at school gates, maintained the Traffic Safety School Gate model in the city; presented thousands of helmets and many gifts to students.
