According to the competition program, golfers will compete in the tournament from July 28 to July 31.
This year's tournament organizes 2 competitions including 2026 Vietnam Open Amateur Men's Championship (Vietnam Amateur Open 2026) - VAO 2026 and 2026 Vietnam Open Ladies Amateur Women's Championship (Vietnam Ladies Amateur Open 2026) - VLAO 2026.
The organizing committee has begun to receive registrations for competitions for male and female golfers nationwide.
It is expected that the men's content will have about 120 golfers participating, while the women's content will include about 40 golfers.
The tournament is regulated for amateur golfers (according to the Amateur Status Law regulated by The R&A and USGA).
Vietnamese male golfers registering for the tournament have a handicap of no more than 9.0 at the time of registration, while Vietnamese female golfers are allowed to participate with a handicap of no higher than 15.0.
In the men's category, the tournament will compete in a personal stick format in 4 rounds, with a total of 72 holes. After the first 36 holes, the Organizing Committee will cut out to find 50 golfers with the best results to continue.
In the women's event, golfers compete in 3 rounds, a total of 54 holes. After the first 36 holes, elimination will be carried out to select 20 people with the best results to win the right to continue.
At the tournament, the winning golfer had the lowest real points (gross) when the tournament closed.
Last year, Nguyen Trong Hoang won the VAO 2025 tournament. Also from this result, Trong Hoang has a spot at SEA Games 33. The VLAO 2025 tournament champion is Marisa Tojal (Thailand).
It is expected that Nguyen Trong Hoang will continue to participate in this year's awards.
