The conference announced the decision on the termination of the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City. Accordingly, the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City will end from June 30, 2025, when Can Tho City merges with Soc Trang province and Hau Giang province to form the new Can Tho City.
At the same time, announce the decisions on terminating the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Ninh Kieu, Binh Thuy, Cai Rang, O Mon, Thot Not districts and Phong Dien, Thoi Lai, Co Do, Vinh Thanh districts; terminate the activities of 76 Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of communes, wards and towns subject to merger in Can Tho city, from June 30, 2025.
The conference also approved a project to merge and consolidate the agencies of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, Hau Giang Province and Soc Trang Province into the agencies of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc He acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels of the city in promoting the role of the great national unity bloc, an important bridge between the Party, State and people.
