Ca Mau organizes the Ceremony to posthumously award Vietnamese Heroic Mothers

The posthumous award ceremony of the title "Vietnamese Heroic Mother", Resistance Medal in Ca Mau affirmed the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", expressing gratitude to people with meritorious services.

To celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), on July 24, Ca Mau province organized a ceremony to posthumously award the title "Vietnamese Heroic Mother" and award the Resistance Medal to families with many contributions to the cause of national liberation.

According to the Department of Home Affairs of Ca Mau province, the President decided to posthumously award the title "Vietnamese Heroic Mother" to 4 mothers, including: Nguyen Thi Hang, Dinh Thi Le, Nguyen Thi Muoi, Phan Thi Hien.

These are cases where husbands or two children are martyrs, meeting the conditions according to regulations. Along with that, 8 martyrs were posthumously awarded the Resistance Medal; at the ceremony, Ca Mau province awarded medals to relatives of 6 martyrs, 2 cases received later because relatives could not attend.

Mr. Quach Viet Thong, grandson of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Hang, residing in Ly Van Lam ward, Ca Mau shared: As the grandson of Vietnamese Heroic Mother, I am very proud of my grandmother, I thank the leaders of Ca Mau province for their concern for people with meritorious services.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Le Van Su affirmed that the title "Vietnamese Heroic Mother" and the Resistance Medal posthumously awarded are not only recognition of the Party and State for the great contributions and sacrifices of Mothers and heroic martyrs, but also a reminder to today's generations of the value of peace and independence exchanged for the blood and bones of so many children of Vietnam.

Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested all levels and sectors to continue to fully implement policies for people with meritorious services; promote the "Gratitude" movement, mobilize resources to care for the lives of policy families, and at the same time strengthen revolutionary tradition education for the young generation to continue the values that previous generations have nurtured.
