On the morning of June 11, the Steering Committee for Collective Economic Development (KTTT) of Cao Bang province met to assess the results of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2026.
According to reports, the whole province currently has 472 cooperatives (HTX) with a total charter capital of over 1,187 billion VND. Of which, 299 HTX operate stably, accounting for 63.34%; 173 HTX have stopped operating.
The KTTT area attracted more than 4,000 members to participate, creating regular jobs for 3,437 workers with an average income of 55.28 million VND/person/year.
Over the past time, many cooperatives have expanded production, promoted the role of linking and supporting members to develop the economy. However, many cooperatives still face difficulties due to small scale, limited competitiveness, and unsustainable product consumption linkages.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing solutions to dissolve cooperatives that are no longer operating, clean up data, process tax codes and remove difficulties in capital and market for cooperatives.
In the last 6 months of the year, Cao Bang strives to establish at least 10 new cooperatives, bringing the total number of cooperatives in the whole province to 482 units; over 70% of cooperatives operate with stable profits.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Vu Dinh Quang - Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee - requested units to soon complete the operating regulations of the Steering Committee, and at the same time assigned the Provincial Cooperative Alliance to preside over the development of a roadmap to definitively handle 173 cooperatives that have stopped operating.
The handling of these cooperatives needs to be completed before December 31, 2026.
