Following information from the press, Ms. T.L. (33 years old, Hai Duong) could not help but be confused when seeing the name of the baby milk label being used on the list of fake milk that the authorities have just announced. "I lost sleep because I didn't know how fake milk affected my child's health," she confided.
According to Buzzmetrics, there were more than 12,000 discussions surrounding the topic of "fake milk" on social media platforms after 4 days of the incident being discovered. Most of them are shared and reflected from parents when they unfortunately bought poor quality goods. In that context, the milk market needs an objective evaluation mechanism, playing a "filter" role for consumers to put their trust in the right place.
The importance of independence certificate
The existence of non-profit organizations specializing in food quality assessment is quite common in developed countries such as the US and Europe. The inspection conditions are based on strict regulations on controlling the waste of pollutants in food.
One of the prestigious independent organizations is Clean Label Project (USA) with the Purity Award - a prestigious certificate of product safety and purity. To achieve this award, starch products need to exceed more than 400 strict standards on quality and production conditions, ensuring no pesticide residues, heavy metals (cem, cadmium, mercury, arsenic), industrial chemicals (BPA, BPS, Phthalates).

These are compounds that pose potential health risks, affect the nervous system and cause hormonal disorders in young children. In developed countries, printing independent certification labels on packaging is an indication that the product is safe for consumers' health.
Before the news of fake milk, very few Vietnamese users paid attention to the pure aspect when buying milk for their children, mainly comparing the number of ingredients. However, Vietnam's leading manufacturing enterprises such as Vinamilk have never taken this standard lightly.
In 2022, Vinamilk's Optimum Gold brand appeared on Clean Label Project's website with the introduction line "The first Asian brand won the Pury Award". By the beginning of 2023, all the remaining children's milk powder lines such as Dielac, Yokogold, Optimum Colos (formerly Colosgold) ... were also awarded Purity Award. This is a good signal for Vietnam's dairy industry when the brand list is recognized earlier from the US and Europe.
Ms. Jaclyn Bowen - CEO of Clean Label Project - said that consumers are increasingly demanding for the quality and transparency of product information, especially children's food. This is a group of subjects that needs more attention in terms of quality standards and safety.
The awards are given by Clean Label Project to brands with products that focus on the purity of ingredients. Therefore, we highly appreciate the efforts and positivity of businesses like Vinamilk in setting higher standards for dairy products for children," she affirmed.
The "key" to making pure milk
The path to achieving independence certification is not less difficult, with a series of strict criteria. In particular, the production line is not synchronous, lacking closure will create a " space" for impurities to enter the milk.

In Vietnam, Vinamilk's milk and powder factory in VSIP 1 industrial park (Binh Duong) always ensures the criteria of synchronization and closure. As the only company owning a separate drying tower in Vietnam, Vinamilk is autonomous in drying nutrients, meaning it does not depend on the supplier and can be proactive in controlling the purity of input materials.
Vinamik's factory's drying tower capacity can provide milk to millions of children every day.
Milk flour is mixed and poured into a can in a 100% sterile environment, equivalent to the standards of a hospital operating room. Vinamilk is also autonomous in winding cans and printing packaging, all automated in a synchronous line, always with pasteurized UV rays.
In fact, according to Vinamilk, ordering cans of Tinh from outside suppliers poses a potential risk of poor quality, not to mention that the transportation process to the factory can become an "acacacacte space" for the environment, humidity affects the packaging, indirectly affecting the quality of milk. autonomous production of cans and packaging is an important factor for Vinamilk to control the risk of infection and stop contaminating metals into milk.
Recently, Vinamilk opened the factory to welcome consumers to visit. Here, they had the opportunity to see, hear, and verify the company's closed production line.
"When I entered the factory, I did not see many workers because most of the processes were automated. The air here has no smell, proving that the necklace is completely closed. Seeing more than a thousand advertisements at once, Mr. K.H (36 years old, Ho Chi Minh City) shared.
Trust is built from transparency

In the context of popular information and advertising on online platforms, consumers are increasingly cautious about general "clean" and "safe" statements, especially the nutrition industry for young children. Instead, they tend to look for brands with authentication data, clear processes and third-party verification.
From the perspective of consumers, factors such as international certification, disclosure processes, and independent periodic inspections are not only "value added", but have become necessary criteria for making shopping decisions. Understanding that need, a transparent investment strategy in raw materials, production processes and international standards helps Vinamilk maintain confidence in the context of the dairy industry facing a "crisis of confidence". This is also an effort of the brand to contribute to raising consumer awareness, affirming the importance of placing higher requirements for quality inspection when choosing products for young children.
Ms. T.L - the mother from Hai Duong in the first story - decided to switch to Dielac after learning about the quality as well as the inspection information. "I am very happy that my child cooperates with the new milk, and also happy that I do not need to worry about the quality of the product," she confided.
