Nghe An - A shrimp farming enterprise was fined 320 million VND for operating without an environmental permit as prescribed.

On April 14, information from Hai Chau Commune People's Committee said that the petition had issued Decision No. 315/QD-XPHC sanctioning administrative violations against Intimex Vietnam Joint Stock Company.

According to the decision, the enterprise was determined to have operated a facility that is required to have an environmental permit but has not been licensed by the competent authority, which is the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

Specifically, the company is deploying aquaculture (shrimp farming) activities in the Dong Gianh area, Hai Chau commune (formerly Dien Kim commune). The land area leased by the Provincial People's Committee is 912,000m2, while the actual usable area as confirmed by the Land Registration Office of Nghe An province is 836,876.6m2.

Through inspection in December 2025, this shrimp farm has been put into operation and is subject to applying for an environmental permit according to the provisions of the Law on Environmental Protection before January 1, 2015. However, by the time of inspection, the enterprise had not yet been licensed.

The above act violates point c, clause 3, Article 14 of Decree No. 45/2022/ND-CP dated July 7, 2022 of the Government on sanctioning administrative violations in the field of environmental protection.

With this violation, Intimex Vietnam Joint Stock Company was fined 320 million VND and forced to pay the fine within 10 days from the date of receiving the decision.

According to Hai Chau Commune People's Committee, the handling aims to strengthen management, supervision and strictly handle violations of environmental laws in the area.
