Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu - Marketing and Communications Director of Vietluxtour Company commented that Vietnam's MICE tourism products had a lot of potential for development before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, this product was interrupted by the pandemic.
Currently, this type of tourism has quite good prospects for recovery. At the same time, it needs to be promoted to expand target customer segments and create new competitive advantages for Vietnamese tourism products in the trend of the tourism industry in general and MICE tourism in Asian destinations constantly improving competitive advantages.
"Currently, the company is promoting marketing and introducing unique MICE tourism products of Vietnam to groups and businesses in international markets through direct and online marketing channels," said Ms. Thu.
Grasping the potential of MICE tourism, many trade promotion activities and searching for potential markets have been continuously implemented by Ho Chi Minh City and achieved many positive signals.
Recently, Ho Chi Minh City also won a grand prize at the World MICE Awards 2024 in the category of Asia's Leading MICE Destination. This is the 5th consecutive time Ho Chi Minh City has won this category.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the city identifies MICE tourism as one of the four main types of tourism that must be invested in and strongly developed.
In the period of 2022-2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism signed a cooperation agreement with many related units to implement the MICE tourism program with key contents such as developing and promulgating the Ho Chi Minh City MICE tourism policy, developing tour programs to visit Ho Chi Minh City, and establishing a MICE tourism working group.
