EVNNPC warns about recommendations related to unusually high electricity bills in August

According to EVNNPC, recently on social networks, there have appeared many articles calling for "name" and "share" recommendations on the unusually high electricity bill in August 2025.

According to the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), recently on social networks, there have appeared many articles calling for "firm names" and "sharing" recommendations on the unusually high electricity bills of many households in August 2025.

These contents are being spread at a rapid pace, along with a call for the online community to participate in order to put pressure on the electricity industry. After that, many Facebookers copyed the original content and posted it on their personal pages or local fanpages for recommendations.

According to statistics and synthesis by EVNNPC, dozens of articles calling for "recommendations on electricity bills" have appeared on Facebook groups. These contents are mainly copied and reposted on personal pages or fanpages to attract views and increase interaction, while the poster does not have specific information about customers or electricity bills.

"This is a form of taking advantage of people's psychology to "follow the trend", exaggerating the single phenomenon of a few customers and providing unfounded information, specific data. Therefore, EVNNPC respectfully recommends that customers be vigilant, avoid letting bad guys take advantage of causing public confusion" - EVNNPC affirmed.

Previously, according to EVNNPC, on September 4, 2025, Quang Chinh Commune Police (Thanh Hoa) invited a citizen named C.T.H to work for posting false information on his personal Facebook, claiming that the August electricity bill had increased abnormally and suspected the metric data.

Through verification, this household bought electricity from Thanh Hoa Electricity Business Management Joint Stock Company, a rural electricity seller not directly under the management system of the electricity industry. Citizen C.T.H later admitted the mistake, corrected the information and pledged not to repeat the offense.

"In case customers buy electricity through units and organizations outside EVN, in the future, if EVNNPC is allowed to receive and manage electricity sales in this area, the Corporation as well as its member Power Companies will be ready with resources to organize electricity sales and serve customers with the best quality and service" - EVNNPC emphasized.
