Gia Lai urgently prepares for major projects

Gia Lai Authorities are urgently deploying preparations for major projects to promote socio-economic development.

On March 13, Mr. Rah Lan Chung - Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee issued an official dispatch requesting agencies and units to speed up the implementation of important investment projects in the province.

For the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway investment project, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries, branches and Binh Dinh province to deploy preparations to ensure compliance with regulations, and submit them to competent authorities for consideration in May 2025.

Regarding the investment in the construction of Pleiku Airport, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to advise on implementation according to the plan in the first quarter of 2025, ensuring the ability to exploit unusual international flights.

These are two key investment projects to promote trade, develop logistics infrastructure, and at the same time create momentum for the tourism industry of Gia Lai province.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to promptly complete the assessment report on the conversion of poor forest areas to rubber cultivation. At the same time, propose a plan to handle underdeveloped rubber areas, forest restoration work and a plan to convert land use purposes appropriately.

Regarding the budget of Gia Lai province, the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Department of Finance advise on developing a plan to adjust the additional budget level. Apply specific priority policies to increase the targeted additional rate for localities from 30% to 40%, approaching the average of the 10 provinces with the highest additional rate.
