World oil price today
World oil prices today fell sharply. At 11:50, WTI crude oil was at 61.62 USD/barrel, down 0.73 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 7.17%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 62.35 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 62.03 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 64.65 USD/barrel, down 0.83 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.27%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 75.48 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 65.74 USD/barrel.
Thus, world oil prices turned down after a strong increase. At the end of yesterday's trading session (September 9), Brent and WTI oil increased by 4.23% and 4.65%, respectively.
According to analysts, the latest statement of US President Donald Trump is the main support for the rising momentum of oil prices. Mr. Trump said he would continue the plan to increase taxes on Chinese goods, but postpone the application of new tax rates to the majority of other countries in 90 days. This move is considered a turning point in global trade tensions, when the US signals will extend time for partners to negotiate to reduce the announced tax rates. Mr. Trump's statement helped oil price increase by more than 4% after each decreased by about 7% at the beginning of the session.
Observers say the decision to extend the tax is also putting more pressure on China, in the context of the country's economy at risk of being isolated.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On April 10, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities are applying) are as follows:

The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of April 3, 2025. Accordingly, gasoline prices have increased simultaneously.
E5 RON 92 gasoline price increased by 341 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline increased by 495 VND/liter, kerosene increased by 211 VND/liter, diesel increased by 261 VND/liter, mazut increased by 124 VND/kg.

The discount levels of gasoline products today, April 10, at some domestic gasoline trading enterprises are as follows:
Hoang Trong General Trading Company Limited: Diesel 0.05S - II: 2,600 VND/liter, applied at Hai Linh warehouse, Hai Phong; RON 95 - III gasoline: 2,700 VND/liter, applied at Hai Linh warehouse, Hai Phong warehouse K99; Diesel 0.05S - II: 2,450 VND/liter, applied at Bac Ninh warehouse; RON 95 - III gasoline: 2,550 VND/liter, applied at Bac Ninh warehouse; E5 gasoline: 2,400 VND/liter at Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec.
Tu Luc Petroleum: Diesel discount 0.05S-II: 2,350 VND/liter; Diesel 0.001S-V: 2,200; RON 95 - III gasoline: 2,350; E5 gasoline: 2,150 VND/liter.
MIPEC Petroleum: RON 95 - III Petroleum Discount: VND 2,600/liter; E5 Petroleum: VND 2,500/liter; Diesel 0.05S-II: VND 2,800/liter. Applicable to the Northern region.
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current developments, it is forecasted that in the next price management period, retail prices of gasoline may decrease sharply.
Of which, RON 95 gasoline price may decrease by about 1,690 VND/liter; E5 gasoline may decrease by about 1,470 VND/liter; Diesel oil decreases by about 1,210 VND/liter.
