World oil price today
World oil prices turned to decrease sharply. At the end of yesterday's trading session (October 14), WTI and Brent oil prices decreased by 1.3% and 1.5%, respectively.
By this morning's session, both oil products continued to decrease sharply. At 10:14, WTI crude oil prices were at 58.41 USD/barrel, down 0.29 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.49%. WTI oil closed the previous trading session at 58.70 USD/barrel and opened the last session of the week at 58.67 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 62.09 USD/barrel, down 0.30 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.48%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 62.39 USD/barrel and opened the weekend session at 62.26 USD/barrel.
Both oil products are at their lowest level in about 5 months.
According to analysts, the global oil market could face a supply glut of up to 4 million barrels per day next year, as producers in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC+) increase production, while energy demand remains weak.+
However, according to OPEC+'s monthly report, Russia has made less pessimistic comments. The supply shortage will gradually decrease in 2026, as the OPEC+ alliance continues its production increase plan.
Analysts predict that the global oil market will tighten again in the medium and long term after a short-term weakening period.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On October 15, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 are as follows:
The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance from 3:00 p.m. on October 9.
Accordingly, gasoline prices have decreased simultaneously. E5RON92 gasoline price decreased by 486 VND/liter, RON95-III gasoline decreased by 480 VND/liter, diesel decreased by 434 VND/liter, kerosene decreased by 571 VND/liter and mazut decreased by 562 VND/kg.
This management period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and fuel oil.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price management period, retail prices of gasoline may fluctuate in opposite directions in the direction of increasing gasoline prices and decreasing oil prices.
In particular, the price of RON 95 - III gasoline is forecast to increase by about 120 VND/liter; E5 RON 92 - II gasoline increases by about 10 VND/liter; Diesel oil decreases by about 220 VND/liter.
