According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the functional forces under the City's Steering Committee 389 have achieved many positive results in the peak period of the fight against smuggling and trade fraud. In particular, many cases of production and trading of fake milk, drugs, food, and functional foods, as well as trading in goods with signs of counterfeiting famous brands have been promptly handled.
Many serious violations were discovered and handled, creating a clear social effect, being recognized and highly appreciated by public opinion.
However, the situation of smuggling, trade fraud, production and trading of counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights continues to be complicated. Some recent cases reported by the press show that the subjects have increasingly sophisticated tricks in storing, transporting and consuming counterfeit and smuggled goods.
To rectify this situation, the Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade - the Standing Agency of the City Steering Committee 389 - to preside over and coordinate with relevant units and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to continue to strictly implement the instructions of the Central and City.
The city will establish interdisciplinary working groups to inspect and review the situation of smuggling, production and trading of counterfeit, counterfeit, and poor quality goods in the area. The focus is on areas, fields and items at high risk of violations, especially products that directly affect people's health such as food, medicine, functional foods, cosmetics.
Based on the inspection results, the working groups will synthesize, evaluate the situation, clarify the causes, determine responsibilities, and at the same time advise the Hanoi People's Committee on specific, timely and feasible solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, and poor quality goods.
The Hanoi People's Committee also assigned departments, branches, sectors and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities, based on their assigned functions and tasks, to proactively coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade to strengthen propaganda and dissemination of laws; encourage people and businesses not to participate or assist in illegal acts.
