According to Lao Dong, along the routes of Cach Mang Thang Tam, Pham Van Dong, Truong Chinh... a series of kiosks were set up with all kinds of moon cakes from many different brands.
Ms. Kieu Trinh - owner of a moon cake stall on Cach Mang Thang Tam Street said that this year, the selling price will remain the same as the company's listed price. The number of customers has not changed even though it is approaching the Mid-Autumn Festival.
"We are implementing many discount programs and giving cakes to customers to stimulate purchasing power. Most customers are individual customers who buy a few boxes as gifts, so they are very interested in the quality and brand" - Ms. Trinh said.
Meanwhile, at many retail markets such as Tan Dinh, Ban Co, Binh Tay... there are still many types of moon cakes with packaging full of foreign characters, no Vietnamese stamps or labels for about 20,000 VND/piece.

Ms. Phuong Lan - a consumer in Vuon Lai ward, shared: "Seeing that the price was too cheap, I also tried buying a few for the children. But after opening it, the cake had a strange black smell and a bitter taste, so I had to leave it.
According to records, many points of sale also advertised moon cakes as "inventory, discount up to 50%", but the packaging was wrinkled, blurred, and not in accordance with standards. Some cakes do not even have ingredients or information about the production facility.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy - Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department, in recent years, the moon cake market in Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country has been rich in designs and prices. The source of goods is brought to the market through many channels such as import mainly through the trade, sub- trade and manual production. To ensure the safety of consumers, the Department has requested market management teams to strengthen inspection, promptly detect and handle violations.
To ensure the safety of consumers in this year's Mid-Autumn Festival, Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety said that moon cake inspection activities will be increased, including production, warehouses, stores and major brands, which are no exception.
"This is a specialized inspection, focusing on moon cakes, inspection activities have been implemented for many months. In the near future, the sale of moon cakes at great prices, of unknown origin, will also be strictly controlled and not allowed to circulate. In the online environment, we also conduct reviews; production facilities that do not meet the conditions will be punished according to regulations" - Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan said.
