Electricity industry explains why the number of hours of electricity use does not change, bills still increase
Many households reflected that electricity bills in June increased sharply, in some cases 2-3 times compared to the previous month. According to EVNNPC, the main reason is prolonged hot weather causing demand for cooling equipment to increase, bringing the capacity and electricity consumption in the North to a record level.
The electricity industry said that although the air conditioner's usage time does not change, electricity consumption can still increase because the device has to operate at a higher intensity when the outdoor temperature is high. In addition, students are on summer vacation, many electrical devices are used simultaneously and the installation of air conditioners at low temperatures, unclothed rooms or unsanitary equipment also causes electricity consumption to increase significantly.
